With the rapid development of the epidemic, the design of Leishenshan Hospital has changed several times, with 50,000 square meters, 75,000 square meters and 79,900 square meters. In just six days, the total planned construction area of Leishenshan Hospital has increased three times, and the number of beds increased from 1,300 to 1,600. The shortage of personnel, materials and equipment has become a problem that must be solved.
Chen Weiguo: We drew the strongest team from Huoshenshan to be responsible for the construction of Leishenshan. At that time, we planned to fight some people from Huoshenshan, but they were extremely tired at that time, so we could only mobilize again. We asked China Construction Corporation for help and requested branches across the country to tighten their needs.After rushing for help, hundreds of management teams with thousands of people came from behind, which increased the number of workers in Leishenshan from more than 10,000 to more than 20,000.
Add to make adjustments before work. How can one night work for more than two days?
On January 31, due to the need for the highest protection level, Huoshenshan Hospital proposed that the design of three zones and two channels that had been built must be adjusted. The construction team that is about to be completed has ushered in the most difficult moment.
Chen Weiguo: We had reached the limit of our physical and psychological state at that time. We had not slept for several days and nights, so we tried our best to hand it over. Suddenly, such an adjustment came, just like the last straw that pushed the team to the brink of collapse. The workload of this adjustment is quite large. Generally speaking, it takes about two days, but we were only one night left at that time. All our managers were staring at that place, and all the manpower was concentrated on this. If it was not enough, we asked for reinforcements from other provinces. At that time, we felt that the weight of a thousand pounds was pressing on us. We were like ants sandwiched in the cracks of stones, with no room for anything, we could only try our best to exert our strength.
Three days and three nights. The female foreman led the welder to fight continuously and refused to rest. At 12 noon on February 1, the foundation construction of the Huoshenshan Hospital site was completed.
On February 2, Huoshenshan Hospital was officially delivered!
On February 4, thousands of PLA medical staff entered Huoshenshan Hospital and began to treat patients.
On the afternoon of February 6, the Wuhan Municipal Urban Construction Bureau, together with the Municipal Health Commission, carried out the acceptance work of Leishenshan Hospital and gradually handed over it. On the evening of February 8, Leishenshan Hospital, which accommodated 1,600 beds, admitted the first batch of confirmed patients.

Therefore, maintenance personnel have become the group with the highest frequency of entering the “red zone” except for medical staff and hospitalized patients. During peak hours, 494 maintenance personnel were on the front line of the “Two Mountains” hospital, responding to the needs of the hospital and medical staff around the clock. At most, more than 600 maintenance items will be completed every day to ensure the normal operation of the hospital.

When the Leishenshan Hospital project was concluded, Xu Fei and his dozen of workers chose to stay and participate in maintenance.
Xu Fei: We are actually very tired every day, but we must do this well. I lost more than ten kilograms during the time I came. Although the company booked a hotel for us, we basically would not go back after working overtime, so we rested in the car, thinking about doing things quickly and trying our best to move forward. Time waited for no one.
